Blog #13, Is Spandex a Statement?

All around the world spandex is becoming a major fashion trend.  Spandex is being worn for comfort as well as for beauty and for sports too.  This fabric can be seen as a way for women to express themselves and their opinions.  Women can use spandex to show off their confidence in themselves.  A controversy does surround this subject though; people feel that this type of clothing is inappropriate to wear.  I feel that it should not be seen in this way.  As long as women do not abuse their privilege and dress like a "sex god" they should be allowed to express themselves.  Spandex allows women to show how confident that they are in themselves and to be proud of who and what they are.

How Does Attractiveness Affect Someone?

In our world today, attractiveness seems to be a main influence in how people think about themselves.  Attractiveness seems to install confidence in a person.  This is nice to have, but what about the people that some believe to be not attractive? There is always one person that will think that someone else is not attractive.  This can cause a bad affect on the person this is though about.  this should not be the case; confidence should not come from attractiveness.  Attractiveness should come from confidence.  Attractiveness should not be the most important aspect of our lives.  Each person is attractive in their own way and they should not take to heart other people's jealousy, which is the main cause of many of these comments.

Blog #11: What if the Old Women's Equal Rights Ammendment had been Passed?

Back in history, Lyndon B. Johnson had wanted to pass a Woman's Equal Rights Amendment, but it was shot down.  This amendment would have given women the exact rights as men all that time ago.  How would life be different now?  I feel that life would be extremely different now.  Women would be fully accepted into American Society as being equal to men.  Women would have the same jobs as men and have the same rights in the military as well.  It would have taken a long time to adjust, but i feel that if this amendment would have been put in place when people were more accepting of it, people would not have problems with this issue anymore.  

Blog #10: Women in the Middle East

Many women in the Middle East are forced to cover everything but their eyesight.  If they don't, it is said to be a sign of disrespect and they are punished very harshly.  There is a large difference in how women are able to act in the United States as compared to the Middle East.  Why should women be forced to act and be treated like they are in the Middle East?  Women there should be able to dress the way they want to and be able to let their opinion be known.  They should not be forced to be quiet and hide their whole lives.  They deserve to be able to be what their dreams desire.
